Variables
Every one of these has a default, so the piece works untouched. Set the ones you want to change on the element:| Variable | Default | Accepts | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
title | Render complete | string | The notification title line. |
body | launch-cut.mp4 is ready to preview | string | One body line. Long lines truncate with an ellipsis. |
app_label | HyperFrames | string | Small-caps app name row beside the app dot. |
os | ios | ios, macos | Banner geometry and placement: wide centered iOS or compact top-right macOS. |
at | 0.3 | 0s to 8s, step 0.05s | Seconds after mount start when the banner drops in. |
accent | green | green, blue, violet | App dot color. |
exit | none | none, fade, up | None holds the banner; up tucks it back off the top; fade fades it in place. |
data-variable-values on the element that mounts it. These are the
defaults, so this behaves exactly like the preview above until you change one:
<div
data-composition-id="native-notification-pop"
data-composition-src="compositions/components/native-notification-pop.html"
data-variable-values='{"title":"Render complete","body":"launch-cut.mp4 is ready to preview","app_label":"HyperFrames","os":"ios","at":0.3,"accent":"green","exit":"none"}'
></div>

native-notification-pop: HyperFrames video primitive (product-demo / overlay)
One system-faithful notification banner drops in over ANY scene: fast
arrival, soft overshoot, settled mass. The os enum picks the chrome
geometry: ios is a wide centered banner with a large radius, macos is a
compact top-right banner. The banner carries an app dot, an app label, a
title, and one body line over a backdrop-filter blur; it holds at rest and
tucks away only via the exit variable. Distinct from notification-stack:
this is overlay chrome, faithful to the OS, one banner.
Spring law: arrival is a closed-form underdamped spring sampled from a
linear driver, y(t) = -offset * e^(-zeta*w*t) * (cos(wd*t) +
(zeta*w/wd) * sin(wd*t)). Position is a pure function of timeline time, so
forward seeks, reverse seeks, and repeated seeks are byte-identical, and a
mid-motion redirect (an exit overlapping the drop) picks up the current
sampled position instead of snapping (Wave K L1): banner y has exactly one
owner at any time (spring sampler, then the rest pin, then the exit tween,
in timeline order), and the drop cue is clamped so the spring always
completes before OUT begins.
Backdrop blur: the banner uses backdrop-filter blur + saturate over the
scene. If a host compositor flattens or lags the blur under seeks, remove
the backdrop-filter lines; the color-mix surface fill underneath is opaque
enough to carry the banner on its own (verified fallback).
Slot (see README.md for a worked example):
- [data-slot="scene"]: the full-bleed background the banner drops over.
Replace the children of this element in your installed copy. Default:
a token backdrop with soft color fields and a skeleton card, saturated
enough that the banner blur visibly reads.
Variables (declared in data-composition-variables below):
- title (string): the notification title line.
- body (string): one body line. Long lines truncate with an ellipsis.
- app_label (string, default "HyperFrames"): small-caps app name row.
- os (ios | macos, default ios): banner geometry and placement.
- at (number, seconds, default 0.3): when the drop starts, relative to
mount start. Clamped so the spring settles before any exit.
- accent (green | blue | violet, default green): app dot color.
green maps to --brand, blue to --accent, violet to --accent-2.
- exit (none | fade | up, default none): none holds the banner at rest;
up tucks the banner back off the top (the native dismiss); fade fades
it in place. The scene slot holds regardless: frame roots own scene
transitions.
Envelope (fixed IN/OUT, elastic HOLD only, never gsap.timeScale()):
IN = at + 0.9s spring drop (first contact with rest at at + ~0.31s)
HOLD = elastic; the banner rests dead still
OUT = 0.45s when exit is fade or up, 0 when exit is none
Sound cue: dispatches a bubbling `hf:sfx` CustomEvent with id
"notification-pop" at first contact with rest. This primitive never plays
audio.
Mount contract: MOUNTABLE SUB-COMPOSITION. The runtime clones only
<template> contents; #root fills the host box (inset: 0, container-type:
size), has no data-width/data-height, and registers one paused timeline
under the literal "native-notification-pop" key. Variables come from
window.__hyperframes.getVariables().
