That writes one file:compositions/components/tabs-slide-indicator.html.
Variables
Every one of these has a default, so the piece works untouched. Set the ones you want to change on the element:| Variable | Default | Accepts | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
accent | ink | ink, green, blue, violet | Fill of the sliding pill. ink is literal; the rest ride the composition theme tokens. |
width | standard | compact, standard, wide | Width of one tab. The slide the timeline drives is scaled to match, so the pill still lands on the next tab. |
shape | pill | pill, rounded, square | Corner radius of the track and the pill. |
labels | Plan,Debug,Ask | string | The tab names, separated by commas. Two or more names rebuild the row. |
data-variable-values on the element that mounts it. These are the
defaults, so this behaves exactly like the preview above until you change one:
<div

data-composition-src="compositions/components/tabs-slide-indicator.html"
data-variable-values='{"accent":"ink","width":"standard","shape":"pill","labels":"Plan,Debug,Ask"}'

<!--
Tabs Slide Indicator - transitions.dev-inspired primitive for HyperFrames.
Paste the markup, CSS and script into a composition. Use the timeline
integration note at the bottom as the starting point for deterministic GSAP
animation.
Variables. The script reads each one, falls back to the declared default on
anything missing or unrecognised, and writes the result as a custom property
the CSS below consumes. The timeline recipe at the bottom is untouched by
them: it keeps sliding the pill one tab to the right, and these decide how
wide that tab is, what the pill looks like and what the tabs say.
- accent (ink | green | blue | violet, default ink): fill of the sliding
pill. ink is a literal near-black; the other three ride the composition's
own brand, accent and accent-2 tokens and fall back to that same ink when
the composition declares none. The labels sitting on it stay white, so all
four keep the active tab readable.
- width (compact | standard | wide, default standard): width of one tab,
72px, 86px or 104px. The slide the timeline drives is scaled by the same
ratio, so the pill still lands exactly on the next tab rather than
stopping short or overshooting it.
- shape (pill | rounded | square, default pill): corner radius of the track
and the pill, 999px, 12px or 4px.
- labels (text, default "Plan,Debug,Ask"): the tab names, separated by
commas. Two or more names rebuild the row, one name or none leaves the
authored markup alone, since a single tab has nowhere to slide to.
On every default the result is identical to the original: three 86px tabs in
a light pill track, a near-black pill sliding from the first to the second.
